Our Story.
After the AL Supreme Court’s ruling jeopardized access to IVF in Alabama, a grassroots effort known as the Fight for Alabama Families Coalition (FFAF) was born. FFAF mobilized thousands of advocates across the state and country, including 350 individuals who travelled to the statehouse to tell legislators their stories and sent over 33,000 emails.
This grassroots movement led to quick passage of SB159. This legislation protected patients’ IVF access and gave providers the necessary protections to resume critically needed IVF services.

Passage

Many of the advocates who showed up at the Alabama Statehouse last March had never been there before. Many had never spoken to their legislators. Their courage to show up, advocate, and share their stories is what helped us get the IVF Immunity law passed and IVF clinics up and going again.
While there is so much to be proud of, our work is not done. FFAF recognizes that the IVF Immunity law is a short-term solution for IVF access, and we anticipate further legal challenges to this law. We remain laser-focused on our two goals: 1) securing full and permanent protection of IVF and 2) defending against harmful regulations or legislation.
